Associate Counsel (AC - Corp)

The Associate Counsel of the Company is a licensed attorney whom devotes 100% of his/her efforts to representing the interests of the Company.  The Associate Counsel provides legal expertise and legal perspective to business issues/needs.  The Associate Counsel must possess and display a keen understanding of the effects that legal recommendations and actions will have on reaching the Company’s goals and objectives.

Required Skills:

Technical skills required for success:  Must be self-sufficient with respect to production of documents (i.e. all Microsoft Word functions).  A working knowledge of Yardi and Excel would also be beneficial.
Success Factors – Superior written and verbal communication skills, ability to listen and ask questions (understand business goals) prior to offering legal advice or implementing any actions, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and understand business priorities so as to ensure timely feedback, work product, etc.

Experience Required:

Minimum level of education is a JD degree from an American Bar Association (“ABA”) accredited Law School.  Undergraduate degree with a Business focus would be beneficial.
Must be licensed to practice law in at least one state.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as either an in-house counsel or in private practice with an emphasis on real estate, construction, multifamily housing, corporate, insurance, and general business law.
