General Counsel

ECOT, the nation’s largest statewide online K-12 charter school has an opening for General Counsel.  Experience with, employment and contract law required.  Familiarity with public law, education law, Title I, NCLB, IDEIA, juvenile and domestic relations laws helpful.  Excellent research skills a must. Advise staff, administrators, and Board of Directors on laws, actions, and impact of both.  Represent ECOT’s interests among varying agencies.  Coordinate with outside counsel.  Review, revise and create contracts and other legal documents.  Develop and implement policies and create procedures to ensure compliance. 

J.D. and Ohio licensure, five years plus of relevant legal experience and proficiency in MS Office required.  Base salary $80,000.
