Position Summary


Director of Government Contract and Regulatory Compliance is the focal point for information on all areas of government regulations, contract requirements, and oversight which impact Triple Canopy and is responsible for averting risk to Triple Canopy through monitoring internal controls and compliance with the regulations and contract requirements. 


 


General Purpose


Provides internal controls and compliance and acts as the focal point for information on all areas of government relations.


 


            Roles and Responsibilities:


 



  • The Director of Government Contract and Regulatory Compliance will report directly to the Senior Director, Legal and Government Affairs and will be responsible for companywide corporate compliance programs. 

  • Create and implement best practices in business ethics and innovative approaches to enhance the company’s internal control programs that respond to common legal, financial, and human resource compliance issues. 

  • Work within the company and with the Corporate Counsel and senior leadership team to formulate the Corporate Compliance strategy & operating plan to achieve success with regulatory agencies. 

  • Responsible for the global oversight of the end-to-end corporate compliance process. This includes reviewing, planning and implementing initiatives and training related to compliance, as well as, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of regulatory compliance with the laws, and regulations of both governing bodies and third party agencies.

  • Establish internal control test plans, coordinate testing, evaluate test results, and assist management with assertion as to the effectiveness of the internal control environment.

  • Responsible for ensuring that Corporate Compliance appropriately supports all aspects of applicable internal controls and external regulatory examinations. 


 


Risk Mitigation:


 



  • Develop regulatory and contract compliance matrix based on RFP requirements during project bid phase leading to contract award.

  • During contract life cycle work with program management to identify key internal controls, responsible control owners, and remediate control gaps. 

  • Internal Control Monitoring - continuously conduct internal reviews of compliance with regulatory and contract requirements throughout the contract life cycle.

  • Systems Development - Participate in systems development efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and basic internal controls.

  • Policy review and development - participate on teams involved in developing and/or revising company policies and procedures.


 


Other Responsibilities include:


 



  • Ensure projects align with broader corporate regulatory compliance strategy. 

  • Serve as the overall lead in managing the production of required documentation for Corporate Compliance.

  • Keeping the company’s Leadership Team fully informed of status, issues, and activities.

  • Lead for regulator inquiries, questions and requests for documentation prior to, during, and after the examinations commence.

  • Serving as primary content reviewer in Corporate Compliance before any materials are provided to regulatory examiners, ensures materials are thorough, correct, and are of high quality.

  • Driving follow-up activities/resolution of any Corporate Compliance audit or examination findings to ensure quality, on-time deliverable and sustainability of corrective actions, performs periodic reporting and follow up activities with issue "owners".

Essential Skills and Experience:


 



  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience as an auditor or regulatory examiner and/or experience working directly with audit/examiners in similar capacity

  • Experience working with government regulators and an excellent relationship/reputation with them.

  • Experience in a professional services organization, to include demonstrated leadership.

  • Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and regulations is required.

  • Deep understanding of government contracting regulations and regulatory guidance; possess requisite certifications.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels within the organization as well as with external parties.

  • Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience writing audit documentation.

  • Strong leadership skills; practices a collaborative approach.

Education:


 



  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university.  Advanced degrees encouraged.  Experience presenting training programs encouraged.

Physical Demands and Work Environment


Must be able to read and comprehend legal documents and instruments.  Must be prepared to attend meetings or travel to other company sites (both domestic and international) to provide compliance assistance as required.  Must be prepared to interact with company personnel at all levels of the organization.  Must be willing to travel to overseas locations including austere environments.
