Approximately twenty to thirty percent of the attorney's responsibilities will be to provide legal advice in regards to intellectual property matters. This will include coordinating with outside patent counsel to provide advice regarding patent issues arising during merger and acquisition transactions, analyzing and responding to patent claims asserted against, analyzing and coordinating patent claims they could assert against third parties, as well as working with outside counsel on patent prosecution matters. The attorney will also work with outside counsel to coordinate trademark prosecutions as well as addressing offensive and defensive trademark infringement matters.
