Public Cloud Business Development Director

  • Role will report to VP, Business and Corporate Development
  • Role will primarily focus on Public Cloud Business Development activities but may also assist in some corporate development activities as well.
  • Will manage the business development relationships with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and potentially Oracle. These relationships will focus on Public Cloud offerings, but will cover all integration areas with these three technology vendors
  • Our Cloud Securityportfolio consists of in-linesecurity, host-basedsecurity and API basedsecurity
    • The main products you will beworking withare:
      • VM-Series (Virtual Next-Gen Firewall for AWS and GCP)
      • Global Protect Cloud Service (Firewall as a Cloud based Service)
      • Evident (Continuous monitoring, Compliance and cloud storage security)
      • Traps (Host-based security for Linux and Windows images in the cloud)
    • Part of the Business and Corporate Development team at Palo Alto Networks

Core Responsibilities

Public Cloud Business Development:

  • Drive the strategy and manage the relationship between Palo Alto Networks and Public Cloud Providers
    • Focus will be on AWS and Google
    • Potentially very small amount of time on other cloud providers
  • Focus is on the overall strategy and actions, the technology integrations, and ensuring strong cross functional teamwork as we engage and work with these important strategic partners.
  • Will be the Palo Alto Networks expert on everything AWS and Google
  • Role will manage the relationship for not just AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) but integrations with all AWS and Google products.
  • Work with Partner Managers at AWS and Google on daily basis
  • Coordinate with internal partners, Sales Engagement Directors, Cloud Sales, Cloud Channels, Cloud Product Marketing, Cloud Marketing and Product Management
  • Share that information with team members via oral and written communication
  • Work with Technical Business Development team on technology integrations with AWS and Google.
  • Help identify other key technology partners in the areas of Public Cloud. Examples, Containers, Automation Tools, Other Cloud Security vendors.
  • Role is bothinternal and external facing
    • Major focus on roadmap integrations and planning with Public Cloud Providers
  • Need to help coordinate engagement strategy for Public Cloud Partners across all internal organizations.
  • As a team we will prioritize and focus requests from all Public Cloud Partners
  • Will attend and represent Palo Alto Networks at key partner events, AWS Re:invent, Google Next, Partner SKO events and some regional events.
  • Will help establish partner trade show plan for all events

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with or at a Public Cloud Provider
  • Experience working with or for AWS or Google
  • Understand of Public Cloud trends
  • Experience manage complex partnerships with much larger companies.
  • Ability to be both internal and external advocate
  • Security Industry Experience and knowledge, preferred
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts in business setting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Other Information:

Location: Santa Clara, CA.   Seattle considered

Travel required, approximately 30-40% of the time.  Mostly domestic.
