The Senior Education Researcher will:
• Lead project and proposal teams to design and conduct rigorous research that informs important policy decisions concerning K-16 education, career and technical education and career pathways, college access, workforce development, and large-scale program evaluations
• Lead project teams to deliver high-quality research products that meet clients’ needs
• Work on multiple ongoing projects related to public school improvement efforts, particularly those focused on integrated academic and career-technical education, college and career readiness and workforce development
• Develop and lead, as appropriate, analyses of surveys and quantitative student, teacher, and school data
• Participate in and lead, as appropriate, qualitative data collection and analysis
• Write reports, policy papers, and articles for clients, policymakers, and practitioners, and present study findings to relevant audiences
• Participate in and eventually lead business development efforts to define research, evaluation, and/or technical assistance services focused on K-16 education, career and technical education and career pathways, college access, and workforce development
• Grow professionally and develop new skills through ongoing collegial support and professional development opportunities
 

Qualifications

•    Doctorate in Education, Public Policy, or a Social Science discipline or comparable experience
•    Strong conceptual and analytic skills
•    Knowledge of K-12 schools and colleges and current issues in K-16 education
•    Expertise in integrated academic and career-technical education, college and career readiness, and workforce development
•    Experience in leading data collection, analysis, and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data
•    Strong writing and communication skills
•    A passion to improve education for all students
•    Commitment to collaborative work

Candidates with the following experiences preferred:
•    Track record of winning competitive bid contracts and grants
•    Successful business and client development
•    Leading federal evaluation contracts that use experimental or quasi-experimental methods
•    Previous work in the K-16 system, including teaching, administration, and/or evaluation
•    Experience delivering research results using diverse media.
